The Horseshoe should be grown in a bright place, with direct sunlight. These plants lose the aerial part during the coldest months of the year. As spring begins, stems and leaves quickly start to reproduce. The Horseshoe should be grown outdoors; it can bear very harsh temperatures without any problems, even many degrees below zero.
Generalities Horseshoe
These plants grow covering the whole land at their disposal. The Horseshoe is small in size and 40 cm in height; in the summer it assumes a yellow colouring. These plants aren't evergreens, which means they lose their leaves some months during the year. The Horseshoe is a plant for a rock garden.
Fertilization Horseshoe
We suggest adding to the irrigation water, in the spring, every 20-25 days, a specific fertilizer for flowering plants. We can also mix to the soil near the plants a granular slow release fertilizer, which has a 3-4 month action.
Watering Horseshoe
Water rarely, about once every 1-2 weeks with 2-3 glasses of water , keeping the soil dry for a few days before watering again; when wetting we suggest avoiding surpluses, however to wet the soil deep down. Perennial plants are subject to some months of vegetational rest. During these months it isn't necessary to water them.
Treatments Horseshoe
Generally during this time of year we suggest a pre-emptive treatment with wide range insecticide and with a systemic fungicide, to prevent the attack from part of the aphids and the development of fungus diseases, often favoured by a mild and damp climate.
Soil Horseshoe
We suggest a substratum characterized by an excellent drainage.
