To obtain a florid development it is important to remember to fertilize our shrubs periodically; in the spring let’s use a fertilizer rich in nitrogen and potassium, which will favour the development of new vegetation and of flowerings. We can intervene at the end of the winter, mixing a good dose of slow release organic fertilizer to the soil surrounding our plant. During the spring it is also possible to act periodically, with liquid or powder fertilizers, to add to the water when irrigating, every 20-25 days.

When the minimum temperatures are very low we can protec the more sensible brushes by covering their roots with dry leaves or straw. The Mirrorplant should be preferably located in a place where it can have at least a few hours a day of direct solar light.The Mirrorplant can't stand cold weather, therefore in general it should be grown in a sheltered place; during the Spring months, when the minimum temperatures are above zero, it can be moved outside.

Pests Mirrorplant
As the day-time temperatures rise at the beginning of the spring, it is agreeable to practice a preventive treatment, with a wide-range insecticide, which should be applied when there aren’t flowerings in the garden. Before the buds become too large, it is advisable to also treat them with a wide-range fungicide, to prevent the development of fungal diseases which spread easily when there is an elevated environmental moisture.
