This plant prefers very luminous locations, during this period of the year it is best to avoid direct exposure to solar rays. Let's locate the plants so that they can enjoy a good diffused brightness, but someplace where they are not directly hit by solar rays.These plants don't like cold weather, therefore in the Spring it is best to set them outside only when the temperatures are above 15°C.
These plants have a pendolous deportment. The Leochilus Is medium in size; in winter it assumes a purplepinkwhite colouring. These are evergreen plants, which means they keep their leaves year round. The Leochilus has a shrub- like development.
We suggest fertilizing periodically, every 20-25 days, using a specific fertilizer for orchids, to add to the irrigating water. Let’s avoid using fertilizers during the flowering period and leaving the fertilizer in direct contact with the roots.
Water rarely, about once every 1-2 weeks with 1-2 glasses of water , keeping the soil dry for a few days before watering again; when wetting we suggest avoiding surpluses, however to wet the soil deep down. Watering by immersion is suggested for orchids: it consists in soaking the containers in water up to the edge, when the soil is moist let's take out the vases and let the excess water drain before putting them back in place.
An insecticide treatment should be applied only if damaging insects have been seen on the plant; vaporizing the product we avoid spraying it on the flowers.
