Care Baobab
The Baobab develops in an erect manner and, as the years go by, becomes a tree. The Baobab is large in size and 22 m in height; in the summer it assumes a greenwhite colouring. These plants aren't evergreens, which means they lose their leaves some months during the year. These plants have an erect development; in the lower part they usually show a bare stem, while towards the top they widen to form the crown.
Feed Baobab
In the spring let’s fertilize our succulent plants periodically, adding, every 15-20 days, a specific fertilizer. Fertilizers fur succulent plants must be rich in potassium, but poor in nitrogen, to avoid the plants from developing excess vegetation, which is easily attacked by fungal diseases.
Irrigation Baobab
Watering takes place only when the soil has been dry for days, usually every 4-5 weeks can be enough; if the climate is particularly hot we can slightly intensify the irrigations, using 1-2 glasses of water . These plants are very resistant to droughts; let’s avoid watering excessively; during the winter months we can avoid watering the plants located where there’s a cold climate.
Adversity Baobab
Generally during this time of year we suggest a pre-emptive treatment with wide range insecticide and with a systemic fungicide, to prevent the attack from part of the aphids and the development of fungus diseases, often favoured by a mild and damp climate.
