The Ixora develops like a shrub. Growing they develop a round-shape shrub. This plant in the spring assumes a yellow colouring; it is medium in size and can reach 50 cm high. It keeps its leaves in the winter.
Temperatures Ixora
For a balanced development of the the Ixora it is advisable to locate it in a place where it is exposed to at least a few hours of direct sunlight. The Ixora can't tolerate freezings, therefore it is best to grow it in a cold green house or in an apartment; during late Spring we can place them outside, when all risks of freezings are unprobable.Let's avoid exposing apartment plants to direct sunlight, which could damage the leaves, especially during the hottest months of the year. We should prefer a bright position, but with filtered light.

These plants favour quite regular watering, usually 2-3 glasses of water ; we advise in any case to irrigate every 1-2 weeks , when the soil is dry. To avoid that a scarce drainage could favour the development of fungal diseases, let's remember to avoid leaving water in the saucer.

The spring weather, with a high temperature swing between the day and night hours, and pretty frequent rains, can favour the development of fungus diseases, which should be treated pre-emptively with a systemic fungicide, to use before the gems grow excessively; at the end of the winter we also suggest a wide range insecticide to prevent the attack of aphids and cochineals. We should always remember to do these treatments when there aren't flowerings in the garden.

These plants need to be grown in a soil which isn’t too drained. Every 2-3 years we should change the soil and place the plant in a larger container.
